What Do Dirt Bikes Have To Do With Entrepreneurship? Here Is The Story About Kanes Kandy!

Kane’s Kandy isn’t just another small business popping up in Fond du Lac, it’s a story that started with a kid who wanted an electric dirt bike and a grandma who said, “Alright, then you’re going to work for it.” Instead of handing him money, she handed him a freeze dryer. From there, Kane and his family started selling freeze-dried candy to relatives, and before they knew it, the whole thing took off. What started as a fun little side project turned into something real, something busy, something the community quickly fell in love with. They’ve been fully in business since May 2025, and more importantly, it’s been teaching Kane what money really means, that if you want something, you show up, you work hard, and you earn it.

Their products are the kind of stuff that people see once and instantly go, “Yep, I need that.” Freeze-dried candy, Chamoy Skittles, Nerd Clusters, sour Skittles, regular Skittles, Charleston Chews, Banana Chews, Lucky Charm marshmallows, honestly, the list feels endless. Every week they’re experimenting, trying new treats, finding new flavors, and giving people something fun to look forward to. It’s the type of business that feels like it was built for this community… because it was.

You can find their treats in a few places: Snapchat at KanesKandy, Facebook, or at the downtown Fond du Lac Farmers Market during the summer. That’s where a ton of people first discovered them, walking by, catching a glimpse of those colorful bags of candy, and grabbing a few for the road. It’s simple, it’s local, and it’s easy to support. And honestly, businesses like this are what make Fondy feel like Fondy.

And here’s the part that makes this even cooler for me personally: I’ve known Ashley and Corey since back in the skateboarding and RuneScape days. The days when life was simple, everyone hung out outside, and we’d spend hours doing absolutely nothing but somehow it was everything. Seeing them now, building this with their son, staying involved in the community, even donating two full bins of candy to Fondy Junior Football… it hits different. They’re a family of three working their tails off, keeping prices reasonable, showing up for people, and giving Fond du Lac something sweet. I’m proud of them, and I’m proud this community continues to show them love.
