A New Chapter for Urban Fuel Coffee Station

After 12 years of building Urban Fuel Coffee Station into a place so many people in our community have come to love, Terri Hardell Deanovich is passing the torch to Calib P. Loderhose. And from everything Calib shared about his history with Urban Fuel, this feels like a pretty fitting next chapter.

Calib’s connection to Urban Fuel goes way back. He met Terri around the time she first opened the coffee shop, when he was managing at Schreiner’s Restaurant. He later left to help his dad, Paul, grow Advanced Closets, but never really left the hospitality world behind. Terri eventually invited him to help out during Urban Fuel’s Thursday night live music events. When his dad decided to retire and sell the family business in 2025, Calib found himself figuring out what his next chapter would be. Turns out, it was right down the road at a place he already knew and loved.

My wife and I love going out to Urban Fuel for coffee. It’s one of those places that just feels comfortable. You grab a cup of coffee, sit down and somehow always end up seeing someone you know. That’s something Terri and her staff have built over the last 12 years, and I think that’s why this news means a little more than simply hearing that a local business has a new owner.

I also had the opportunity to meet Calib this week, and I’m really happy for him and this new opportunity. You can tell how much respect he has for what Terri created and how important it is to him to carry that forward. Calib says he has dreamed about an opportunity like this for years, and he plans to keep Urban Fuel’s welcoming atmosphere while opening the doors a little more often and adding some of his own personality along the way. Congratulations to Terri on an incredible 12 years, and congratulations to Calib on the beginning of a pretty exciting new chapter at Urban Fuel!
