Beer, Bourbon, and a Packed Downtown in Fond du Lac

Downtown Fond du Lac had a really good turnout this past weekend for the Beer & Bourbon Crawl. It wasn’t just one or two spots either, it was a full mix of places across downtown. You had stops like Fat Joe’s Burgers & Brews, Blue Line Tavern, and Fond du Lac Beer Company, along with places people don’t always think of for something like this like Cutter Vac & Home Center and Main Street Fashion. It gave people a reason to actually move around downtown instead of staying in one place all night.
What stood out most was how social the whole night felt. When you’ve got stops like 18 Hands Ale Haus & Biergarten and Hotel Retlaw mixed in with places like Lunar and Lake Bookmarket and La Belle FDL, you’re pulling in all kinds of different crowds. That’s what made it work. People weren’t just going out to drink, they were bouncing into shops, checking out places they normally wouldn’t step into, and just enjoying being downtown.
Events like this are a good reminder of what downtown Fond du Lac can be when everything comes together. You’ve got bars, restaurants, and retail all working as one, and it turns into something bigger than just a night out. The Beer & Bourbon Crawl isn’t just about drinks, it’s about getting people into places like 1836 Renegade Taproom or Limitless Finds that they might not have checked out otherwise. If you missed it, this is one of those events that shows how much potential downtown really has when people show up.

The Fond du Lac Loop is about 16 miles long and connects different trails, bike lanes, and park paths throughout the city. Parts of it run through Lakeside Park, the Prairie Trail, Peebles Trail, and other areas around town. What’s nice about it is that every section feels a little different.
