Known as Donut Man, he carries something sweeter than a cape:

a mission of compassion, creativity, and community.

Fond du Lac isn’t just where Donut Man lives — it’s his whole life. Since 1994, he’s called this community home, inspired by his grandmother, who taught him the power of giving back.

Together they’d buy donuts and share them with people, especially those in need — a small act of kindness that became a lifelong inspiration.

Now, Donut Man continues her legacy onward - handing out donuts, candy, and sugar-free sodas across town, especially during the holidays.

For him, every sweet treat is a reminder that joy multiplies when it’s shared.

His greatest inspiration? Walt Disney.

From imagination and artwork to storytelling and music, Donut Man admires how Disney built happiness from creativity.

That spirit drives his ultimate dream, to create the “Fondy Magic Kingdom”

a joyful destination filled with hundreds of rides, multiple water parks, arcades, games and More.

“It’s about creating opportunities, lifting people up, teaching skills, and uniting our town through happiness,” he says.

When he’s not in costume, Donut Man works at Hotel Retlaw as a Laundry Ambassador. He proudly folds linens and enjoys keeping things spotless.

To him, the hotel is his Cinderella’s Castle, Main Street is Main Street USA, The waterpark is Typhoon Lagoon and even Target feels like his Disney Store.

Every corner of Fond du Lac holds a bit of magic if you look with the right eyes.

He’s a familiar face in local parades — always smiling, dancing, and spreading cheer. His favorite holiday is Christmas, when the city glows brightest and kindness fills the air.

He loves Lakeside Park, Walleye Weekend, and the Food Truck Festivals — gatherings that show the heart of his town: connection, teamwork, and joy.

Since falling in love with Disney at age three, Donut Man has believed in using imagination as the power to do good. His favorite characters — Mickey, Minnie, and Captain Hook with Smee — remind him that every story has room for mischief, magic, heart and a hero.

Coming from humble beginnings, he hopes one day to use success not for fame, but to help others — proving you can rise in life while staying “poor at heart,” rich in kindness and compassion.
