Georgetown Cleaners has been a part of Fond du Lac for decades, and after sitting down with Buck Dumanch, it’s clear that tradition is still alive and well. The business was originally started back in 1959 by George Morris and has evolved over the years into one of the area’s most reliable spots for laundry and dry cleaning. In November of 2024, the Pelletier family took over ownership, keeping that family-owned feel going strong. For Buck, this was a new chapter, stepping into his first dry cleaning operation after years of experience working locally, including a decade at Holiday.

Talking with Buck, you can tell they take pride in what they’re building. Georgetown offers everything from self-service laundry to full-service dry cleaning, shirt laundering, alterations, and even pickup and delivery. Their focus is simple: fast, friendly, and personal service at a fair price. And they’re expanding that convenience too, with bi-weekly pickup and delivery in Fond du Lac and weekly service for surrounding areas.

I absolutely love the history on this place. I remember going there as a kid before Buck and his family owned it, doing laundry a few times, and not thinking much of it back then besides getting a candy out of the candy machines. Now, hearing the full story and seeing how much goes into running a place like this, it gives you a whole new appreciation for it.

We also had Buck on an I Love Fond du Lac Live over at Georgetown, and that was honestly one of the coolest parts. Getting a look behind the scenes at where the dry cleaning actually happens was something most people never get to see. It’s not just tossing clothes in a machine, there’s a real process to it. Seeing that side of the business, and hearing Buck talk about where they’re headed, you can tell Georgetown Cleaners is in good hands moving forward.
