Nationwide Blood Shortage- Red Cross is seeking donors

The American Red Cross is calling on eligible donors to roll up their sleeves as the nation faces a critical blood shortage. Blood donations have dropped to a four-year summer low, prompting the organization to declare only the second national blood supply crisis in its history. Hospitals across the country rely on a steady supply of donated blood for surgeries, trauma patients, cancer treatments, and other life-saving medical care.

The Red Cross encourages all eligible donors—regardless of blood type—to schedule an appointment as soon as possible to help replenish the nation's blood supply and ensure hospitals have the resources needed to care for patients. Every donation has the potential to save multiple lives and can make a critical difference for someone in need.
