Phoenix Nest Breaks Ground: A New Beginning for Women in Recovery

Construction is officially underway on Phoenix Nest, a new eight-bed sober living home that will provide safe, supportive housing for women in recovery in Fond du Lac County. Led by the Gratitude Club, the project represents a major investment in long-term recovery, helping women rebuild their lives with stability, hope, and community support.

The Gratitude Club is proud to announce that construction is officially underway on Phoenix Nest, an eight-bed sober living residence for women recovering from substance use disorders. Following a successful groundbreaking ceremony attended by community leaders, donors, volunteers, and supporters, the project is expected to welcome its first residents in early 2027.

Located adjacent to the Gratitude Club on Western Avenue, Phoenix Nest will provide a safe, structured, and supportive home for women transitioning from treatment, incarceration, or unstable living situations. More than just housing, the residence will offer an environment where women can rebuild their lives, develop healthy routines, strengthen recovery, and prepare for long-term independence.

For more than 45 years, the Gratitude Club has served as a cornerstone of recovery in Fond du Lac County, offering meeting space, peer support, education, and sober activities. Phoenix Nest represents the next step in that mission by addressing one of the community's greatest recovery needs—safe, affordable housing for women committed to sobriety.

The project has been made possible through the generosity of local businesses, foundations, civic organizations, individual donors, and countless volunteers who believe that recovery strengthens families and builds healthier communities. Their support demonstrates what can be accomplished when a community comes together with compassion and hope.
