For more than four decades, The Country Doctor Since1984 has been helping people find comfort, healing, and hope through natural wellness practices rooted in compassion and tradition.
The Renee chose the name “The Country Doctor” because it reflected the image of old-fashioned country doctors who traveled from home to home, offering herbs, tinctures, and care to those in need. That philosophy of personalized healing continues today.
The journey began with foot reflexology. One of the very first clients, who suffered from lupus, had heard about reflexology from her iridologist. She was told the pressure points on the feet could reveal congestion, stress, and blockages within the body, and that treatment might help improve her condition over time.
After several sessions, she experienced such positive results that she began telling others about the treatments she received. Word quickly spread, and the business naturally began to grow.
Alongside reflexology, The Country Doctor also became a distributor for herbal products through Nature’s Sunshine. Clients would often ask questions about arthritis, anxiety, digestive issues, and other health concerns. Using herbal knowledge and research, recommendations were made for herbs and tinctures tailored to each individual’s needs.
That passion for natural healing led to years of continued education in herbology and essential oils. In 1995, massage therapy was added to the practice, helping clients struggling with back pain, hip discomfort, neck tension, and shoulder issues — services that continue to this day.
Wanting to deepen that knowledge even further, the owner enrolled in an online naturopathy program in 1996 while balancing work and family life. Studying late into the evenings after the children were asleep, the journey required years of dedication and perseverance. In 2008, that hard work paid off with graduation and a Doctor of Naturopathy degree.
Today, The Country Doctor continues to combine reflexology, massage therapy, herbs, tinctures, essential oils, and naturopathic practices to help clients manage pain and improve wellness naturally.
One of the latest remedies includes handmade poultices using ginger and comfrey for knee and joint pain. Clients continue to share stories of relief and healing through these natural methods.
One memorable client recently arrived suffering from a severe urinary tract infection, in tears and overwhelmed with pain. After receiving herbal remedies, a specially prepared cranberry-based wellness drink, and reflexology focused on pressure points connected to the bladder area, the client reported that much of the pain had subsided within minutes. She later received a custom kidney flush tea to continue supporting her recovery at home.
Stories like these are what continue to inspire the work being done every day.
“I get a lot of good remarks from people,” the owner shared. “That is why I continue to do what I do.”
For many in the community, The Country Doctor is more than a wellness business — it is a place where natural healing, compassion, and personal care come together.
