FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Sometimes, the smallest gestures make the biggest difference. On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Haentze Floral and a group of local volunteers brought smiles throughout the Fond du Lac area through the annual Petal It Forward initiative.
Joined by volunteers from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Fond du Lac Fire Department, Companion Animal Care, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Zacherl Funeral Home, and Steve Wirtz Builders, the team surprised residents with colorful bouquets and a simple message of kindness.
Created by the Society of American Florists, Petal It Forward encourages participants to give two bouquets to someone—one to keep and another to share. The goal is to spread happiness and demonstrate the positive impact of giving and receiving flowers.
For Haentze Floral, the event has become a beloved annual tradition. This year, the kindness continued well beyond the initial deliveries as recipients shared photos, stories, and heartfelt messages on social media.
“Still smiling from Petal It Forward,” one participant shared, while another wrote, “This is the best thing for this town. You guys are the best.”
One especially touching response captured the impact of the day: “I saw you out and it was so nice it made me cry.” Another participant shared, “My heart took me in a few different driveways that weren’t on my list,” demonstrating how one small act of kindness can inspire many more.
For Haentze Floral and its community partners, Petal It Forward is about more than flowers. It is a reminder to slow down, connect with others, and make kindness part of everyday life.
Haentze Floral extends its heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers and community members who helped make the day a success. Together, they showed that a simple bouquet can brighten a day, lift a spirit, and inspire a ripple effect of generosity throughout the community.
One bouquet to enjoy, one bouquet to share—and countless opportunities to make someone smile.
