A fantastic early American primitive ladderback armchair, circa 1810s–1840s. Features four shaped ladderback slats, turned acorn finials, shaped arms, and an original woven hickory bark or splint seat. Beautiful warm surface and strong early country farmhouse character throughout.
Honest age-related wear, shrinkage, surface marks, and losses to the woven seat consistent with age and use.
Measures approximately 16” from the floor to the seat, and 42” from the floor to the top of the back rest
Seat area measures 19” x 17” deep
Due to the chair’s age and antique nature, it is being sold primarily as a collectible and decorative display piece rather than for regular everyday use.
