An exceptional early American primitive ladderback side chair with original woven splint seat, likely Appalachian or Southern rural craftsmanship, circa 1870s–1890s. Handcrafted post-and-rung construction with shaped ladderback slats and rich aged red-brown surface. Features a handwoven splint seat showing authentic age and wear consistent with long use. Classic country primitive form with strong folk art character.
Measures approximately 16” from the floor to the seat, and 33.75” from the floor to the top of the back rest
Seat area measures 16” x 13” deep
Due to the chair’s age and antique nature, it is being sold primarily as a collectible and decorative display piece rather than for regular everyday use.
