Original Antique Arts & Crafts Mission Quartersawn Oak Gentlemen's Bar Cabinet

Sold by Brothers Antiques · Furniture

$450.00

A genuine quarter-sawn oak gentleman's bar cabinet dating to the Arts & Crafts period, circa 1910–1925. Crafted with classic Mission styling, the cabinet features through-tenon style joinery, rich quarter-sawn oak grain, and an attractive original dark finish.

The interior retains its unique two-bottle/decanter holder mounted to the inside of the door, along with a drawer and adjustable interior shelf.

The knob handle was very likely a later addition.

Note, I will include the original mortise lock mechanism, however, there is no key and the locking mechanism is non-working as the bolt sticks and does not retract. I had originally removed the locking mechanism to work on it, and in the process, I lost the key.

A magnetic cabinet catch had been added to keep the door closed, although it could benefit from a stronger magnetic catch to keep it more securely closed without the locking mechanism in place.

Measures approx. 38.75" tall by 13.5" deep by 21" across (or 24.5" across with the exposed joinery).

The two round hole openings for bottles will accommodate any bottle no larger than 3.25" in diameter.

The interior dimensions of the top storage drawer are 18“ x 9.5“ x 3.25“ deep

The interior dimensions of the bottom storage drawer are 18“ x 10.5“ x 4.25“ deep
