When extreme cold settles into Fond du Lac, it reveals something powerful about our community. In moments when temperatures drop and conditions become dangerous, people show up. Local businesses, volunteers, and neighbors have come together to make sure no one is left out in the cold, proving once again that compassion runs deep here.
We are incredibly thankful to the businesses who stepped up without hesitation. Essential Lawn Services, Zellner Realty, Bob’s Small Engine, Bob’s Pizza, Mancino’s of Fond du Lac, and Roffers Landscaping, Schieks RV, Philly’s Grocery & Deli, Johnson Chiropractic, Made & True-Wedding & Event Signage, and many others all answered the call to help provide warmth, food, and support to those who need it most. Ranger City Marketplace, traveling all the way from Wausaukee, Wisconsin, also played a role by offering discounted meals for kids, reminding us that generosity knows no distance.
Equally deserving of thanks are the volunteers and staff at St. Katharine Drexel Shelter. Their willingness to open their doors, extend accommodations during extreme conditions, and work long hours behind the scenes is nothing short of inspiring. These are the people who turn donations into meals, shelter into safety, and uncertainty into comfort.
This effort is a reminder that community is not just a word, but an action. It is neighbors helping neighbors, businesses giving back, and volunteers serving with heart. Fond du Lac continues to show that when challenges arise, we come together, stronger and kinder than before.
