Each winter, Lakeside Park transforms into one of Fond du Lac’s most beloved holiday traditions, glowing with Christmas decorations and festive lights that draw families back year after year. The park’s holiday displays have been a symbol of togetherness and seasonal joy for generations. While a devastating fire years ago destroyed many of the
original decorations, the spirit behind them never faded. Instead, the loss became a turning point—one that inspired the community to rebuild, reimagine, and lovingly restore this cherished tradition.
In the years since the fire, Lakeside Park’s decorations have been thoughtfully remade and updated, blending nostalgia with fresh creativity. New displays honor the charm of the past while introducing modern elements that continue to delight visitors of all ages.
A nostalgic, family favorite is a drive past Rudolph and his shining nose at the top of the iconic Fond du Lac Lighthouse, with Santa peeking out. The Fond du Lac Noon Rotary Holiday Light Show, set up on the west side of Lakeside Park, is a true labor of love, made possible by countless volunteers who dedicate their time to setting up, maintaining, and taking down the displays each season. Running nightly from Thanksgiving to January 1st (5 PM - 11 PM), park and tune your car radio
to 89.1 FM to enjoy this free, drive-through event features dancing trees and festive scenes. The light show is also supported by generous local sponsors whose contributions help keep the tradition free and accessible for the entire community.
