Your Fond du Lac Halloween Game Plan: Trick-or-Treat Hours Are Set! 🎃
by Shane Michael · 10/24/2026

Halloween is almost here, and Fond du Lac has plenty of ways to celebrate, from the downtown Monster March and Trunk or Treat to neighborhood trick-or-treating on October 31. Don’t forget the longtime KFIZ Halloween Party, where kids ages 5–12 can listen in hopes of getting a call live on the radio, a tradition that continues to make Halloween special for local families.
One of my favorite days of the year growing up in Fond du Lac is almost here. There’s nothing better than seeing our neighborhoods come alive on Halloween: kids in costumes, porch lights glowing, and parents walking the streets with flashlights and candy buckets. And let me tell you, some of the best photos in our group every year come from trick-or-treat night.
So here’s your game plan. Official trick-or-treat hours in the City of Fond du Lac are Saturday, October 31 from 3:30 to 5:30 PM, and North Fond du Lac is on the same schedule. If you’re out in Ripon, they’re the early ones, their trick-or-treating is this Sunday, October 25 from 3 to 5 PM. Start your Saturday downtown with the Monster March, where kids in costume march down Main Street from 10 AM to noon and trick-or-treat for free at participating downtown businesses and farmers market vendors between Merrill Street and Western Avenue. Then head over to the American Legion Trier-Puddy Post #75 at 500 Fond du Lac Avenue for the 7th Annual Trunk or Treat from 1 to 3 PM, where veterans hand out candy in a safe, fun environment.
But here’s the part I remember most. When I was a kid, the best part of Halloween night was getting home, sitting by the radio, and just waiting, waiting to hear them call my name. The KFIZ Halloween Party is still going strong. Kids ages 5 to 12 can sign up, and the radio show starts at 5:30 PM, right when trick-or-treating wraps up. KFIZ calls randomly selected kids live on the air, but you have to be home to answer the phone. It’s a longtime Fond du Lac tradition, and I love that it’s still happening.
A couple quick reminders: if you’re handing out candy, turn those porch lights on. If you’re out with the little ones, keep an eye out for cars and stick together. Get the kids signed up for the KFIZ party, get home safe, and keep the radio on. Most importantly, have fun with it. Snap those costume photos and share them. Halloween in Fond du Lac is one of those days that shows off how awesome our community really is.
